      Approximately one in ten tested milk samples in the Nizhny Novgorod region showed violations. This was reported by the Rosselkhoznadzor regional press service.

      In the first half of 2025, specialists tested 309 food samples. Every tenth sample raised questions—35 samples did not meet safety standards: 15 in the Nizhny Novgorod region and 20 in the Mari El Republic.

      Most of the non-compliant samples contained vegetable fat substituted for dairy fat, as well as violations of fatty acid composition and the presence of sterols. Some products had exceeded permissible levels of sorbic acid, a preservative.

      The agency took measures against the producers responsible for violations. Unschedule inspections were conducted, conformity declarations revoked, and warnings issued.

      Earlier, nearly 30 kg of contaminated fruits imported from Uzbekistan were destroyed at the Nizhny Novgorod airport.
