A fatal traffic accident involving a drunk driver in the Bolshesolynsky District has resulted in the initiation of a criminal case. This was reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region.
The accident occurred in the morning of July 12. The culprit was a 50-year-old man who got behind the wheel of a Chevrolet Niva while intoxicated. Traveling towards Bolshiye Bolshiny, he picked up a passenger, then lost control and the car overturned. His passenger sustained fatal injuries.
The offender faces up to five years in prison. Previously, we reported that 116 accidents with 4 fatalities occurred in the Nizhny Novgorod Region over a week.
