The assembly line for automotive electromechanical transfer cases has started operating in Zavolzhye.
As part of the project by LLC "Soldiers Transmission Production," the production of electromechanical transfer cases for the Sollers ST6 and ST8 pickups, as well as three UAZ models: "Patriot," "Pickup," and the all-wheel-drive "Profi," has been established on the territory of the industrial park at the Zavolzhsky Motor Plant (ZМЗ).
"Zavolzhye continues to develop as one of the automotive industry centers in our region. Recently, mechanical gearboxes were produced here, and now the production of transfer cases has been launched as well. It is important that the site is developing according to a clear plan," said Gleb Nikitin, governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
The launch of the new production was initiated by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrei Sanosyan and the Chairman of the Board of PJSC "Soldiers" Adil Shirinov.
"The project involves further localization of component manufacturing. The Russian Industrial Development Fund has already approved a preferential loan of over 280 million rubles for the project, and total investments will exceed 350 million rubles," said Andrei Sanosyan.
The project includes localizing the casting and machining of the casing, assembly operations, and testing. The total production volume for the project will be about 20,000 transfer cases per year.
"The launch of electromechanical transfer case production is another step in implementing our strategy to create a competence center for powertrain manufacturing at ZМЗ’s industrial site. The new project will enable the adoption of advanced technologies, create additional jobs, and ensure a high level of localization for vehicles produced under the Sollers brand, significantly enhancing the consumer properties of UAZ vehicles," said Ilnur Sakhabiev, General Director of LLC "Soldiers Transmission Production."
Currently, 221 applications have been approved across various regional and federal industrial development programs in the Nizhny Novgorod region, totaling more than 36.5 billion rubles in preferential funding. With ongoing and completed projects, total investments in the regional economy will exceed 63 billion rubles, and over 2,810 jobs will be created.
