Society "The 'Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region' program provides an opportunity to be useful not only on the battlefield but also to develop oneself in order to defend citizens' interests in the future," stated veteran of the special military operation (SMO), program participant Ivan G.

In his opinion, the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program is important both for the region and for the entire country.

"It allows us to integrate worthy and reliable people into the system of state and municipal management, who have proven their love for the Motherland through words and deeds and are always ready to defend it," emphasized Ivan.

The soldier admits that he is accustomed to setting high goals for himself and achieving them. Therefore, he decided to participate in the selection for the program as soon as he learned about it. His family supported him.

"The family believes that by participating in the program, I am doing everything correctly. I will do my best not to let down my loved ones or our president—Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin—in these difficult times for the country. He made an extremely important decision that allows people who value their love for the Motherland above all to manifest themselves in public and municipal service," says the program participant.

During his SMO zone service, Ivan was involved in evacuating the wounded. He is capable of taking responsibility and working in a team. Over the next two years, the program participant would like to develop skills in project work and resource management, and after completing his training, help people seeking assistance from government authorities.

"The program involves close interaction with experienced mentors and teamwork with other participants. Undoubtedly, this is the best opportunity to acquire knowledge and practical skills for implementing large projects in the future. I am confident that we will handle all tasks and work for the benefit of the state," Ivan notes.

Recall that on April 2, Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin presented the results of registration for the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program to the rector of RANEPA, Alexey Komissarov. The program is aimed at integrating and employing participants and veterans of the special military operation into the system of state management. In March, an agreement was signed between the government of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, RANEPA, and KUPNO on cooperation for the implementation of this program.

Registration for participation in the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program concluded on March 31. The registration results were summarized at a meeting of the program's public council, chaired by Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Andrey Gneushev. During the selection process, 1,613 applications from Nizhny Novgorod residents were received. Of these, 60% had participated in combat actions and were in the SMO zone. The remaining 40% had completed service in the Russian Armed Forces, and finalists of the program were selected from among them.

The next stage of the selection was remote testing of participants on the platform of the Autonomous Nonprofit Organization "Russia — Land of Opportunities." Based on the test results and questionnaire assessments, the public council of the "Heroes. Nizhny Novgorod Region" program selected 239 candidates in May, who demonstrated high results and advanced to the next stage — online interviews. For participants not included in the main educational program, it was decided to launch a remote educational course that will provide the necessary knowledge and skills for further professional development in civilian life. Currently, 62 people are enrolled in this course.

Based on the total scores from questionnaires, testing, online interviews, and face-to-face interviews with Deputy Governor Andrey Gneushev, 60 participants were selected for the main educational program, along with 30 individuals to be included in the next program stream upon returning to the region.
