Nizhny Novgorod trams No. 8 and No. 12 have been suspended due to flooding of the tracks.

      The movement of tram routes No. 8 and No. 12 in Nizhny Novgorod has been temporarily halted. This was reported by the CRTS.

      The reason was flooding on the tracks near the public transport stop "Hospital No. 23" on Krasny Parunitz Street. As explained by the authorities, there was a sharp rise in water levels in the Autozavodsky main canal.

      The center noted that according to technical standards, a tram can operate if the water level does not exceed 10 centimeters above the rail head. However, in this case, the water rose to 20 centimeters, making the movement of rolling stock unsafe.

      The administration of the Autozavodsky district reported that road services are working around the clock to address the consequences of the heavy rain that fell the day before.

      Work has already been completed to eliminate flooding on Molodezhnaya, Lenina, Busiyna, Kirova, Ilyicha, Oktyabrya avenues, as well as on Permyakova, Starykh Proizvodstvennikov, Chelyuskintsev, Melnikova, Politboytsev, Krasnodontsev, and Komsomolskaya streets.

      In addition, utility services continue cleaning rainwater inlets to accelerate water drainage. Work is ongoing.

      Earlier, it was reported that a heavy downpour washed out soil in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin, intended for landscaping the area between Zachatka and Georgievskaya towers, and flooded some streets of Nizhny Novgorod.
