According to the Hydrometeorological Center, on Saturday, July 12, the daytime air temperature will reach +32°C. Cloud cover is expected, with scattered brief showers possible. The nighttime temperature will not drop below +20°C. On Sunday, July 13, the heat will slightly decrease — up to +30°C during the day. Variable cloudiness and brief precipitation are forecasted. At night, the temperature will be around +18°C. According to preliminary forecasts from meteorologists, the hot weather will persist into next week. Despite a slight decrease in temperature to +27°C, significant rain is not expected in the region. Olga Mokeeva, head of the meteorological forecast department at the Upper Volga UGS, explained that the persistent heat is caused by an anticyclone. "Unusual heat has settled over the Russian Plain. The uniqueness of this phenomenon lies in the fact that meridional flows along the periphery of the continental anticyclone have created conditions for two dangerous natural phenomena: the anomalously hot weather — until July 14, the temperature will exceed the climate norm by 7-9 degrees — and intense heat reaching 35-37°C. Therefore, temperature records, some dating back to 1972, 2010, and 2012, will be repeatedly broken," Mokeeva noted.
