"Moon craters" were found by freedivers at the bottom of a water body in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On September 3, 2026, at 10:18 AM, Society. At the bottom of one of the flooded quarries in the Nizhny Novgorod region, divers discovered an area resembling the lunar surface. The video appeared in the group "Underwater World with the SL Team" on VKontakte. The footage captures a flat section of the bottom approximately 15 meters long. The entire surface of this area is covered with numerous small depressions that resemble craters.

      "It looks so unusual that the first comparison that comes to mind is the surface of the Moon," the divers commented.

      According to researchers, such an unusual relief formed naturally—likely due to the release of air or gas from the upper layers of the bottom silt.
