      The Scientific Research Financial Institute of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation is conducting a public vote for the best regional practices in financial literacy. Three practices from the Nizhny Novgorod region have been nominated for the vote: the "Resident of Financial Culture" portal, the interactive performance "Financial Puzzle," and the video competition "Inflation Alphabet." The "Resident of Financial Culture" portal was developed by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Digital Development of the Nizhny Novgorod region, as well as the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia. The performance "Financial Puzzle" was staged by students and teachers of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional College under the supervision of the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Culture of the region. The "Inflation Alphabet" competition was initiated by the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia to engage school video studios in the region in the topic of monetary policy. As noted by the Minister of Finance of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Olga Sulima, in 2025 the region received the status of the Capital of Financial Culture, and the "Resident of Financial Culture" portal continues to operate as an educational platform where news, educational materials, and announcements of regional events are published. Voting will last until October 1, 2026, on the portal: myfinances.rf. According to the head of the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia, Andrey Popov, in 2026 the first regional round table on the integration of financial education topics into creative economy projects was held at the Volga-Vyatka Main Directorate of the Bank of Russia. He also noted that improving economic literacy is among the important areas of work within the Strategy for Increasing Financial Literacy and Forming Financial Culture until 2030. In 2025, about 15,000 educational events were held in the Nizhny Novgorod region, including lectures, olympiads, and financial literacy lessons for residents of all ages. Two thematic performances were also staged — "Financial Puzzle" and "I'll Call You Back," and the educational project "Resident of the Capital of Financial Culture" was implemented. The coverage of residents participating in financial literacy events increased by almost 30% — from 1.4 to 1.8 million people.
