The overhaul of 28 apartment buildings has been accelerated in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On September 1, 2026, 15:59 Society Major repairs will be carried out ahead of schedule in 28 apartment buildings in the Nizhny Novgorod region. This decision was made by the regional Fund for Capital Repairs. More than 182 million rubles have been allocated for these purposes. The adjustment of plans occurred after municipal administrations identified the emergency condition of the structural elements of the buildings. Most of the houses are located in Nizhny Novgorod. In the capital of the Volga region, repairs will affect 15 apartment buildings in the Lenin, Soviet, Sormovo, Kanavino, Nizhny Novgorod, and Kstovo districts. In seven houses, the work has already been completed: 7 Silikatnaya Street, 9 Vojdyei Revolyutsii Street, 60 Vasily Ivanov Street, 6/22 Yubileynaya Street, 30/2 Vaneev Street, 1 Dnepropetrovskaya Street, 18/12 Hero Samochkina Street. The remaining buildings are located in municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod region, including Dzerzhinsk, Balakhna, Sarov, Gorodets, Arzamas, Pavlovo, Bogorodsk, and Bor. In these houses, 12 roofs, as well as one facade and foundation, will be majorly repaired. Work has already been completed in six apartment buildings. According to the general director of the fund, Dmitry Gnatyuk, the capital repairs are primarily aimed at ensuring the continued safe living of citizens. "Different deadlines for completion have been set for each address and type of work, compliance with which we carefully monitor. For a number of addresses, we are recording completion ahead of schedule," he said. It was previously reported that the repair of the facade of the building on Tsiolkovsky Street in Nizhny Novgorod was estimated at 70.8 million rubles.
