The center of Nizhny Novgorod was paralyzed due to two accidents on the evening of August 27.

      On August 27, 2026, at 18:17 Society Two car accidents paralyzed traffic in the center of Nizhny Novgorod on the evening of August 27. This is evidenced by data from the "Yandex Maps" service. One accident occurred at Lyadov Square, the other at the intersection of Barminskaya Street and Gagarin Avenue. Traffic jams formed on Gagarin Avenue and the Oka exit towards Lyadov Square. Traffic was also congested on the square itself and the adjacent streets. Traffic jams are also observed on Gorky Square. Earlier, a truck knocked down a traffic light at Lyadov Square, paralyzing traffic. Photos from the scene can be viewed here. The traffic light was soon restored.
