Nizhny Novgorod residents are invited to participate in the All-Russian running day "Cross of the Nation - 2026."

      On August 28, 2026, at 10:35 AM, Sports events dedicated to the All-Russian Running Day "Cross of the Nation - 2026" will take place from September 12 to 26, 2026, in 24 municipalities of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The promotion of mass sports is one of the main tasks of the state program "Sport of Russia."

      Everyone wishing to participate in the race can do so with a medical clearance. Pre-registration can be done on the government services portal until 11:59 PM on September 10, 2026.

      The main venue for the competitions will be the Square of George the Victorious in the city of Bor. The race will take place on September 12. The opening ceremony of the "Cross of the Nation - 2026" will begin at 9:00 AM. The route will run along the bypass road through Neklyudovo, Valki, and Makaryevo. Distances of 1, 4, 6, 8, and 12 km are planned.

      Participants in the competition will be divided into age categories according to their year of birth, without considering the day of birth.

      The issuance of starting numbers will take place on September 11 from 12:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the address: Bor, Lenin St., 130, as well as on September 12 from 7:30 AM to 8:50 AM at the Square of George the Victorious.

      To be admitted to the commission, it is necessary to provide an identity document, a mandatory health insurance policy, a medical certificate allowing participation in the competition, and consent for the processing of personal data.

      More detailed information about the time, place of the event, and participation conditions in specific municipalities will be published in the official communities of the administrations and sports institutions at the competition venue.

      The All-Russian Running Day "Cross of the Nation" annually brings together sports enthusiasts and professional athletes, promoting athletics and a healthy lifestyle, which aligns with the goals and objectives set by the state program "Sport of Russia."

      Let us remind you that since 2025, a state program "Sport of Russia" has been in effect in Russia by the order of President Vladimir Putin, aimed at creating and improving conditions for physical activity, promoting mass sports, and enhancing the quality of life for Russians. The program's tasks include expanding sports infrastructure, conducting mass sporting events, and encouraging residents to participate in fulfilling the standards of the All-Russian Physical Culture and Sports Complex "Ready for Labor and Defense." Children's sports are also developing in the country, creating new opportunities for veterans of the SVO and their resocialization through sports activities.
