Three buildings of the Kolchin-Kurbatov factory in Krasnaya Sloboda have been recognized as cultural heritage sites.
On August 28, 2026, at 09:46, Society In Nizhny Novgorod, three buildings on Krasnaya Sloboda Street, 9, were recognized as cultural heritage sites of regional significance. The corresponding order from the regional office for the state protection of cultural heritage sites was published on the official legal acts portal. The "Southern Factory Workshop Building" and the "Northern Factory Workshop Building," built in the second half of the 19th century to the early 20th century, as well as the "Boiler House," dated to the mid-20th century, were included in the unified state register. All three buildings are part of the cultural heritage site of regional significance - the ensemble "Steam Mechanical Establishment of the Kolchin Brothers - Mechanical Plant of the Heirs of U.S. Kurbatov - Plant No. 645 named after Ulyanov," which dates back to the second half of the 19th century to the mid-20th century. At the same time, the management refused to include the "Shipbuilding Plant Complex of I.S. Kolchin - U.S. Kurbatov" at the same address in the register of cultural heritage sites. It was also excluded from the list of identified cultural heritage sites. Earlier, it was reported that in Sarov, a house where outstanding scientists Academicians Y.B. Khariton and E.A.
