One of the victims of the fire in Omsk died in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On August 22, 2026, at 19:49, Incidents: One of the two builders who were transported from Omsk to the burn center of the PIMU University Clinic in Nizhny Novgorod has died. This was reported by the university's press service. The injuries sustained in the fire were too severe and proved incompatible with life.

      "The doctors used the entire available arsenal of high-tech assistance: extracorporeal blood purification, donation of immune drugs, mechanical ventilation. The fight for the patient's life continued until the last minute," representatives of PIMU said.

      Most likely, this refers to a 25-year-old Russian man who was brought to the clinic in extremely critical condition. The man had about 50% burns on his body, of which approximately 40% were deep. He also suffered a traumatic brain injury, chest trauma, multiple fractures, including vertebrae, and damage to the tracheobronchial tree. He was on mechanical ventilation, in a medically induced coma, while doctors fought against developing bacterial sepsis. The condition of the second victim is assessed as stable - he has already been transferred to a specialized department.

      Recall that the fire occurred on the morning of August 15 at the intersection of Krupskaya and Architects streets in Omsk. As a result of the incident, 11 people were injured, two of whom later died in the hospital. Two builders injured in the fire at the construction site of a residential building were transported to the capital of the Volga region on the evening of August 18.
