New transportation changes await Nizhny Novgorod residents starting August 24.
On August 23, 2026, at 17:45, Society. Starting from August 24, the operation of several public transport routes in the Nizhny Novgorod agglomeration will change. This was reported by the Center for the Development of Transport Systems in the region.
Bus routes No. 24 "ZKPD-4 - Microdistrict Verkhnie Pechery" and No. 47 "Residential Complex Akademicheskiy - Novopokrovskoye" will be extended to the new equipped bus stop "Residential Complex Akademicheskiy." It is located near house No. 17 on Akademicheskaya Street.
The changes will also affect the schedules of buses No. 84 and No. 125. The decision was made following an analysis of residents' requests to improve the convenience of transport services.
On route No. 84, additional trips will be added during the day. In addition, the bus will start operating earlier: the first trip from the "Avtozavodskaya" metro station will depart at 06:00 instead of the current 06:20.
The schedule for route No. 125 will be adjusted, including for transporting children from the "Staroe Kstovo" stop to school No. 9. At the same time, the duration of bus operations will increase. The last trip from the "Ulitsa Usilova" stop will depart at 22:00 instead of 21:15, and from the Kstovo bus station at 20:10 instead of 19:50.
The intermunicipal route No. 247 "Bus Station of Balakhna - Nizhny Novgorod (Dubravnaya Street)" will be extended to Kommunalnaya Street. The updated scheme includes a transport interchange hub at the "Varya Station" stop. There, passengers will be able to transfer between buses, as well as to trams and trolleybuses.
Another change concerns the intermunicipal route No. 222 "TPU 'Kanavinsky' - p. Oktyabrsky." Starting from August 24, all types of discounted transport cards will be accepted on it. The Center for the Development of Transport Systems explained that this will eliminate technical limitations and allow discounted categories of passengers to fully utilize the support measures provided for fare payment.
It was previously reported that Nizhny Novgorod ranked second in the rating of public transport in Russia.
