A resident of Arzamas was sentenced to 10.5 years for the brutal murder of a drinking companion.

      On August 20, 2026, at 18:17, Incidents: A 40-year-old local resident in Arzamas was sentenced for the murder of an acquaintance. This was reported by the Nizhny Novgorod prosecutor's office.

      As established by the court, the crime occurred in July 2025 in a dormitory on 9 May Street. The man was drinking alcohol with his acquaintance.

      During the gathering, a quarrel broke out. Out of personal animosity, he inflicted at least four blows to the victim's vital organs and then stabbed him in the stomach with a kitchen knife.

      The victim was taken to the hospital, but a few days later he died from his injuries.

      The Arzamas City Court found the man guilty of murder. He was sentenced to 10 years and 6 months of imprisonment in a strict regime colony, as well as one year of restriction of freedom.
