A resident of Sarov, who beat a friend to death, was sentenced to 10 years in a penal colony.

      On August 14, 2026, 16:46 Incidents A resident of Sarov was convicted of murdering an acquaintance. This was reported by the press service of the Nizhny Novgorod Regional Court. The investigation established that in April, during a joint drinking session, a conflict arose between them. During the quarrel, the man struck the woman more than 20 times with his hands and feet, shod in boots, to the head and body. From the injuries sustained, the woman died shortly thereafter in a clinical hospital. In court, the man fully admitted his guilt and apologized to the victim. He was found guilty under part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation and sentenced to 10 years of imprisonment in a strict regime colony. The court also ordered the convicted man to pay 1 million rubles as compensation for moral damage to the daughter of the deceased. The sentence has not yet entered into legal force.
