Evgeny Chintsov congratulated the Nizhny Novgorod residents on the 805th anniversary of the city.

On August 15, 2026, at 11:23, Society The Chairman of the City Duma of Nizhny Novgorod, Evgeny Chintsov, congratulated the residents on the 805th anniversary of the city. In his address, he recalled important pages of its history and noted that throughout all times, Nizhny Novgorod residents have been able to unite and overcome difficulties together.

Chintsov reminded that Nizhny Novgorod has developed alongside the country for eight centuries and has become a reliable support for it during the most challenging periods.

"More than four centuries ago, the call of Kuzma Minin was heard here, and a people's militia was formed that liberated Moscow. During the Great Patriotic War, Gorky became one of the most important industrial centers of Victory and earned the title of 'City of Labor Valor' through its selfless work," he noted.

According to the chairman of the City Duma, Nizhny Novgorod residents are once again defending the Motherland, carrying out combat missions in the special military operation zone. Thousands of residents support the military and their families, collect humanitarian aid, and help those returning home.

"Epochs change, but the main thing remains unchanged—the readiness of Nizhny Novgorod residents to be together in difficult times and take responsibility for the fate of the country," emphasized Chintsov.

He noted that the strength of the Nizhny Novgorod character is manifested not only in the readiness to defend the Motherland but also in the ability to create and develop. The city produces cars and builds ships, engages in science and modern technologies, preserves cultural heritage, and improves the city.

Chintsov emphasized that behind all the achievements of the city are its residents—talented, hardworking, and caring people. It is they who create the present of Nizhny Novgorod every day and determine its future.

"May our city remain strong, beautiful, and hospitable, open new opportunities, and always be a place we can rightfully be proud of. Happy holiday, dear Nizhny Novgorod residents! Happy 805th anniversary of Nizhny Novgorod!" wished Evgeny Chintsov.
