      On August 14, 2026, at 10:05 AM, Culture and Leisure In Nizhny Novgorod, a mural titled "Cradle of the Unified Epic" has appeared, dedicated to a fairy tale plot that unites the peoples of the Volga region. This was reported by Governor Gleb Nikitin on his Max channel. The head of the region noted that the work was completed as part of the street art festival "FormART" (0+), which is taking place in the regions of the Volga Federal District. He added that public voting for the best mural is currently ongoing. Until August 16, votes can be cast for one work on the "Gosuslugi" portal. The names of the winners will be announced on August 23 at the festival finale in Kirov. As previously reported by the regional Ministry of Culture, the Nizhny Novgorod region is represented by artist Ekaterina Paryushkina. The mural has appeared on the facade of a panel house at 21 Culture Street. In the center of the composition are fairy tale animals in the costumes of the peoples of the Volga region. In the foreground, children are depicted observing the development of the fairy tale plot. According to Ekaterina Paryushkina, this year's festival theme is related to the Year of Unity of the Peoples of the Country, who have lived side by side for centuries, exchanging traditions and being good neighbors. The artist noted that fairy tales from different peoples often resonate with each other in terms of plots and characters. They feature a fox, a bear, a hare, and a wolf, the image of the firebird corresponds to the Simurgh bird from the mythology of Turkic peoples, and the dragon Zilant is associated with the dragon Gorynych. In many fairy tales, she added, one can also see the image of the World Tree. Additionally, the "FormART" festival has been held since 2020 at the initiative of the presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District, Igor Komarov, as part of the national project "Youth and Children."
