      On August 13, 2026, at 12:55, construction fencing began to be dismantled at the "Volga Arena" in Strelka. As reported by a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," the complete removal of the fencing is planned for the evening of August 14. Judging by the progress of the work, the final touches are being made at the site. Workers are currently finishing everything necessary before the arena begins operations.

      At the same time, landscaping continues on the stadium grounds, and preparations for the opening are underway inside the building.

      Workers are almost continuously bringing in boxes, and a truck is parked at one of the entrances, unloading furniture.

      It is worth noting that the construction of the arena began in 2022. Initially, the facility was scheduled to be completed in 2024, but the deadlines were later moved to 2026. A year ago, the building was assigned an official address, and in May, the arena was named after the revived automotive brand. The cost of the Palace contract increased by 2.3 billion rubles, totaling 25.2 billion rubles. The plan is to transfer the facility to Nizhny Novgorod "Torpedo" this summer. Previously, all necessary checks were completed at the arena before it is put into operation.

      It was initially expected that on August 14, the team would hold a preseason match here against "Dynamo," but ultimately the friendly match (0+) will take place at the KRK "Nagorny." A test match featuring "Chaika" is scheduled for September 7 at the arena.
