Direct flights from Petrozavodsk to Nizhny Novgorod may be launched.

      August 13, 2026 18:12 Society The authorities of Karelia are exploring the possibility of opening direct air communication between Petrozavodsk and Nizhny Novgorod. This became known at a working meeting in the Legislative Assembly of the republic, dedicated to the development of the flight program from the region's capital. In 2026, flights from Petrozavodsk are operated in ten directions - both year-round and seasonal. These are Moscow, Kaliningrad, Kazan, Mineralnye Vody, Murmansk, Sochi, Yekaterinburg, Makhachkala, Samara, and Minsk. Currently, the regional Ministry of Transport is working on three new routes from Petrozavodsk - to Nizhny Novgorod, Arkhangelsk, and Vologda.
