A tourist with anaphylactic shock was rescued on the Volga River in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 10, 2026, 15:07 Society A trip along the Volga nearly ended in tragedy for an elderly resident of Severodvinsk. Last Sunday, the man became unwell right on board the riverboat, reported the press service of the company "Vodoley." All signs indicated that the passenger was experiencing anaphylactic shock. The crew immediately requested assistance from the shore - the man required urgent hospitalization. The problem was that the vessel was far from the nearest docking point: it was more than an hour's journey away, and waiting was dangerous for his life. Fortunately, at that time, a high-speed "Valdai" was in Balakhna. Its crew, together with the medics from the Balakhna Central District Hospital, organized an emergency evacuation. Doctors were delivered to the riverboat, after which the patient was loaded onto the "Valdai" and promptly taken to the dock in Balakhna, where he was handed over to the ambulance team. At the Balakhna Central District Hospital, resuscitation specialists and on-duty doctors stabilized the patient's condition in less than an hour. The man is now feeling better: he has been transferred from intensive care to the therapeutic department.
