A model library has opened in the village of Arya in the Uren district.

      On August 10, 2026, at 17:06, Culture and Recreation: A model library equipped as part of the national project "Family" has opened in the working settlement of Arya in the Uren Municipal District. It is the first of seven model libraries that will open this year. This was reported by the Ministry of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region.

      "This is already the second model library in the municipality — the first was opened in Uren in 2023. It is important that here, in Arya, we continue to work in a comprehensive manner — the library is located in a new rural House of Culture, built in 2024. By the way, this is the first model library in 2026 and already the 62nd in the region since the project began. By the end of the year, we will open six more facilities — in Sergach, Varnavino, Kstovo, Balakhna, Nizhny Novgorod, and also in the village of Vad," said the Minister of Culture of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Natalia Sukhanova.

      The construction of the Arya Rural House of Culture was completed in the settlement earlier as part of the national project "Culture." Of the nearly 1,500 square meters of the building, the library occupies 90 square meters. The number of library users exceeds 2,200 people, including not only the population of the working settlement but also the village of Atazik.

      The main idea behind the design project was to create a library model as a center for legal information. During the library's renovation, a new layout was formed, allowing for more space for creative events, presentations, and club activities. Thus, the children's subscription is equipped as a transformer hall with open storage and interactive equipment.

      In the adult readers' subscription area, several workstations have been set up for visitors with access to electronic library resources. An exhibition shelf for book exchange among library visitors has appeared in the library's entrance area.

      In addition, equipment for digitizing collections, laminating, scanning, and printing documents, virtual reality glasses, a children's globe with augmented reality, multimedia studio equipment, a radio system, and a mirror camera, an interactive floor, as well as a software and hardware complex with the installed educational program "Nizhny Novgorod Region" were purchased.

      The library has also been adapted for visitors with disabilities — it has workstations for people with hearing impairments and visual impairments, a tracked lift has been acquired, as well as a portable audio player and a digital magnifier.

      The library's collection has been replenished with more than 1,800 new publications, including classic Russian and foreign literature, encyclopedias, historical and journalistic publications about key events in Russian history, as well as books about crafts and folk traditions of various peoples of the country.

      More than 7.5 million rubles from the federal budget were allocated for the library's equipment upgrade according to the model standard.

      "The model library is a modern intellectual space with the latest equipment and access to digital resources. We have transformed our library into a modern cultural and educational center. Investing in such projects is an investment in the future of our municipality. We want young people to strive for knowledge, and this project is our step towards the development of the entire district," noted the head of the local government of the Uren Municipal District, Sergey Babintsev.

      Since 2025, by order of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, cultural activities have been included in the federal project "Family Values and Cultural Infrastructure" of the national project "Family." Among them are works on re-equipping cinemas, municipal libraries, regional and municipal theaters and museums, the "Pushkin Card" events, and others.

      The national project "Family" is aimed at supporting and developing family values, creating comfortable conditions for forming healthy and happy families.
