A working group on stormwater drainage has been established in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On August 10, 2026, 14:45 Society A working group on stormwater drainage issues has been established in Nizhny Novgorod. It will focus on including stormwater network facilities in the municipal property register. The relevant resolution from August 7 has been published on the city administration's website. The working group is headed by Anton Maximov, the deputy head of the Nizhny Novgorod administration. Elena Pegova, the director of the beautification department, has been appointed as his deputy, and Alexander Zhvakin, the head of the beautification department, is the secretary. The group consists of 21 members, including representatives from the city administration, the city Duma, district administrations, and relevant departments. The main task of the working group will be to address issues related to the acceptance of stormwater drainage network facilities into the municipal register. In addition, participants will coordinate interaction between administration departments and other interested organizations, help resolve disputes, and eliminate administrative barriers. The working group will be able to request necessary information from organizations, send recommendations to city structures, and invite representatives of government bodies and other interested parties to meetings. It will also prepare proposals for regulatory acts concerning the transfer of stormwater drainage facilities to municipal ownership. Meetings are planned to be held as needed. Decisions will be made by a simple majority vote and will be advisory in nature.
