      A resident of the Pochinkovsky district became a victim of fraudsters. This is reported by the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod region. The criminals contacted the man via video call in a messenger, posing as employees of the Federal Tax Service. They informed him that there was a tax debt registered in his name, and it was necessary to urgently pay it off for "settlement." Then, for about a week, communication took place via telebridge. The fraudsters periodically introduced themselves as employees of the FSB, the consumer rights protection service, and the accessibility of financial services of the Bank of Russia. The interlocutors reported suspicious activity on the accounts and the initiation of a criminal case against the applicant, convincing him to obtain credit funds and transfer them to an allegedly safe account. The man followed the instructions of third parties. The total amount of damage exceeded 7.5 million rubles. Realizing that he had become a victim of deception, the citizen turned to the police. A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime provided for by part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (fraud on a particularly large scale). Investigative actions are underway.
