In an interview with IA "Time N," he stated that it is wrong to restrict animals' access to basements. According to him, closed basements often become breeding grounds for mice and rats. Moreover, when homeowners' associations, in violation of the law, completely seal off the entrances, animals become trapped and die.

      "There is no harm from sterilized cats; on the contrary, they protect our homes from rodents. Moreover, chipped cats do not reproduce. Therefore, we need to allow them to stay in the basement," Groysman emphasized.

      The animal rights activist added that closing the basements of buildings also leads to a lack of ventilation, causing everything to start rotting and dampening, which subsequently creates ecological problems within the building itself.
