At the entrance to Nizhny Novgorod, the traffic scheme at Bolshaya Yelnya has been changed.

      On August 8, 2026, at 09:44 Society, a new phase of construction of the ring intersection will begin at the entrance to Nizhny Novgorod from the side of Kstovo. Starting from August 8, 2026, the traffic scheme in this area will change, as reported by the Main Department of Highways of the Nizhny Novgorod Region. Currently, the technical readiness of the interchange exceeds 50%. Work has already been carried out to widen the roadway (except for the top layer of the surface), a ring intersection has been partially created, and outdoor lighting lines have been installed. To continue construction, it is necessary to temporarily open traffic on the newly formed ring, but only in one lane. Drivers in this area need to be more attentive and follow the temporary road signs and markings.

      The construction of the new ring intersection is being carried out as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The interchange will include two lanes of traffic and separate exits (one lane each) in each direction: from Nizhny Novgorod to Olgino, from Olgino to Kstovo, and from Kstovo to Nizhny Novgorod. This will improve road safety and reduce traffic congestion. The contract also includes plans for the reconstruction of utilities that fall within the construction zone, laying new road surfaces, applying markings, installing road signs, and creating an outdoor lighting system throughout the repaired area. The national project "Infrastructure for Life" was initiated by President Vladimir Putin and includes 12 federal projects that continue the initiatives "Safe Quality Roads" and "Housing and Urban Environment."
