The asphalt paving of the road on Karl Marx Street has begun as part of the national project.

      The contractor, in order to minimize inconvenience for motorists, is trying to complete the work as quickly as possible. The asphalting of the road on Karl Marx Street, leading to the "Sovcombank Arena" stadium, the "Meshchersky" sports complex, school No. 176, numerous residential buildings, and public transport stops, has begun in Nizhny Novgorod as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life." The head of the city, Yuri Shalabaev, regularly reports on the progress of the campaign. As reported by Ilya Kurapov, the first deputy general director of the Municipal Institution "GUMMiD," who personally checked the progress of the work at the site, the technical readiness of the section is 65%. "The repair of this street has been carried out in two stages: last year, sidewalks were made here, and this year we are laying asphalt concrete on a section of about one and a half kilometers. Mayor Yuri Shalabaev has instructed to monitor the work at all sites of the national project weekly, paying special attention to the organization of traffic. The contractor, in order to minimize inconvenience for motorists, is trying to complete the work as quickly as possible," he noted. As reported by Ramil Yunisov, the director of the contracting organization, during a site inspection, the curbs on Karl Marx Street have been replaced, and the old surface has been milled. "We are currently laying the wearing course – this is the upper, final layer of the roadway. After completing this work and checking for quality, markings will be applied, and road signs and supports with traffic light objects will be installed," he said. Local residents – pedestrians and motorists – note the positive changes: Nizhny Novgorod is becoming more comfortable, and in their opinion, the matter is not limited to just road repairs, although it plays an important role. "This road needed repairs, and I am glad that it is being done now. Moreover, it is being done quickly and efficiently, and almost everything is ready. Parks and playgrounds are also being improved in the city. Bicycle paths are equipped everywhere. I like living in Nizhny Novgorod!" shared Nizhny Novgorod resident Nikita Knyazev. "It is nice that road repairs are being carried out. I also want to note the improved embankment at Strelka, where I constantly walk with my granddaughter. It's wonderful! Tourists walking nearby share their joy at the sight of beautiful streets, updated infrastructure, and the friendly atmosphere of Nizhny Novgorod. "I came from Moscow for tourism purposes and was delighted with Nizhny Novgorod. It is clear that the city is really being taken care of: everything is very well-maintained, the infrastructure is developed, and roads are being repaired. Let us remind you that this year, as part of the national project, 11.3 km of roads are to be done: laying new pavement over an area of more than 275 thousand square meters and repairing almost 24 thousand square meters of sidewalks.
