As reported by NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" from the company "Yandex," the car that caught the attention of residents is not transporting passengers. It is being used to create high-precision maps necessary for the operation of delivery robots.
Currently, robotaxis are operating in pilot mode in only three Russian cities: Innopolis, Moscow, and Sirius. It is planned that fully operational driverless taxis will be in service by the end of 2026.
There is no information about plans to test this type of transportation in Nizhny Novgorod. However, since May, delivery robots have been working in the Volga capital.
