Control over traffic violations at railway crossings has been strengthened in the Nizhny Novgorod region.

      On August 3, 2026, at 19:07, Society A new photo and video recording complex for traffic violations has started operating at the railway crossing Pravdinsk - Zavolzhye. This was reported by the CRTS of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The camera records passing through the crossing on a red traffic light, as well as identifies drivers and passengers without seat belts. In the first month of operation, the complex registered about 100 cases of running a red light. Currently, there are six such complexes installed at railway crossings in the region. According to the regional traffic police, since the beginning of the year, there have been two accidents with casualties at crossings in the Nizhny Novgorod region. It was previously reported that in the evening of July 29, a man on an electric bicycle was killed on the section Balakhna - Pravdinsk. He was pulled under the train by a gust of wind.
