A Nizhny Novgorod resident was caught in a pickup point with a kilogram of pregabalin.

      August 4, 2026 19:00 Incidents Police detained a 61-year-old man at a Nizhny Novgorod order pickup point of one of the logistics companies. During a search, they found a box containing a potent drug "pregabalin" weighing over one kilogram. According to the press service of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the man ordered the package through an online marketplace from an unknown seller. During a search of the detained man's home, police seized items confirming his involvement in the illegal trafficking of the substance. Law enforcement established that the man regularly purchased large batches of the drug through online platforms, then divided them into smaller doses and sent them to buyers by mail.

      A criminal case has been initiated regarding the incident under part 3 of article 234 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal trafficking of potent or toxic substances for the purpose of sale).
