Nizhny Novgorod residents were warned about fake letters from Rospotrebnadzor.

      August 4, 2026 09:00 Society Scammers are sending fake letters to Russians allegedly from the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor). This was reported by the agency.

      Emails are being sent to legal entities and individual entrepreneurs about an unscheduled inspection under 294-FZ. The messages contain a QR code, a link to follow, and a demand to pay for postal services. The agency emphasized that this information is not true.

      Rospotrebnadzor clarified that all control and supervisory and preventive measures, including mandatory preventive visits, are conducted under 248-FZ. Notifications about them are posted in the personal account of business entities on the Unified Public Services Portal (EPGU) and are additionally sent to the email of the organization or entrepreneur.

      Official letters must include a unique event number, a QR code, the address of its conduct, and the contact phone numbers of the executor.

      At the same time, there are no payment demands in the notifications— all activities are conducted free of charge.
