      On July 31, a ceremony was held in Nizhny Novgorod for the transfer of keys to special automotive equipment to reservists of the "BARS-NN" unit. The event was attended by the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Gleb Nikitin, the deputy chairman of the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Vladimir Tuzhilin, the commander of the "BARS-NN" unit, as well as representatives of the authorities and personnel of the unit. The reservists were handed over 45 units of equipment intended for ensuring the security of the region, increasing the mobility of units, operational transportation of personnel, and logistical support. The transferred equipment included five GAZ-3308 "Sadko" vehicles, four passenger "GAZelles," 17 "Sobol Farmer" GAZ-2310 vehicles, 17 "Sobol" GAZ-2752 vehicles, and two pickups. These vehicles will be used for tasks related to the protection and security of industrial, energy, and other critically important infrastructure in the Nizhny Novgorod region. "Over the past months, the 'BARS-NN' unit has proven its effectiveness and demand. Today, reservists ensure the safety of the region's residents daily, protect critical infrastructure facilities, and secure the airspace of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The equipment being transferred is another step towards strengthening the material and technical base of the unit, which will enhance mobility and operational efficiency in accomplishing assigned tasks. We will continue to create all necessary conditions for the development of 'BARS-NN' and support our reservists," noted Gleb Nikitin. According to Vladimir Tuzhilin, the development of the mobilization reserve remains one of the important areas of work for the regional government. "Today, we are not just handing over vehicles — we are enhancing the capabilities of a unit that has already become an important part of the security system of the region. Modern equipment will allow reservists to respond more quickly to emerging tasks, perform combat duty more effectively, and ensure the protection of strategically important facilities in the Nizhny Novgorod region," emphasized Vladimir Tuzhilin. It is worth noting that, according to the decree of the governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, reservists of "BARS-NN" during special gatherings, in addition to retaining their average monthly salary at their main place of work, receive monetary allowances from the Ministry of Defense of Russia — starting from 20,000 rubles and above, depending on military position and rank, as well as a regional payment of 50,000 rubles monthly. Being part of the "BARS-NN" reserve does not involve deployment to the special military operation zone and takes place exclusively within the territory of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The contract with the Ministry of Defense of Russia allows for combining service with primary civilian work. Reservists retain their jobs and salaries, are provided with modern equipment, free hot meals, life and health insurance, as well as medical assistance. Additional regional social support measures are in place for reservists and their families. For children, free kindergarten, school meals, sports sections, extended day groups, subsidized vouchers to camps and sanatoriums in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and priority rights for transferring children to schools near their homes are provided. The entire family of the reservist is guaranteed priority free medical assistance under the State Guarantees Program for providing medical care to the population of the Nizhny Novgorod region.
