En+ and NGHM offer Nizhny Novgorod residents a meeting with the treasures of world culture.

      On August 15, on City Day, admission to the permanent exhibition and all ongoing exhibition projects at the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum|RUSSIAN ART (Kremlin, building 3) will be free for all residents and guests of Nizhny Novgorod. The event is held with the support of the energy holding En+. "Supporting culture and art is an important part of the social responsibility of the En+ holding. We are pleased to provide Nizhny Novgorod residents with a unique opportunity to get acquainted with priceless works of national heritage.       On this day, three major exhibition projects covering key stages of domestic visual and decorative applied arts will be simultaneously available to visitors. The first floor features a large-scale exhibition "The Arzamas Academy," dedicated to the 250th anniversary of A.V. Stupin – the founder of the first private art school in Russia in the province. The exhibition is realized in partnership with the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum, the Research Museum of the Russian Academy of Arts, and the Arzamas Historical and Art Museum. The central work of the project is the famous painting by Vasily Perov "Hunters at Rest" (a student of the Stupin school), which rarely leaves the walls of the Tretyakov Gallery. This work is being shown to the Nizhny Novgorod public for the first time.

      On the second floor, there is the exhibition project "Aivazovsky and Romantic Landscape," where guests can see authentic works by the renowned marine painter Ivan Aivazovsky and his contemporaries who worked in the genre of romantic landscape.

      On the third floor, one of the brightest exhibitions of the season is on display – "Northern Sun," dedicated to the art of gold embroidery. The project, prepared in collaboration with the Tsarskoye Selo State Museum-Reserve, the Kargopol Historical, Architectural and Art Museum, and the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum, traces the evolution of the craft from decorating peasant life to exquisite products for the imperial court.

      In addition, the halls of the permanent exhibition of the Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum will be open to visitors, featuring masterpieces such as "The Crows Have Arrived" by Alexei Savrasov and "The Fortune-Teller" by Karl Bryullov. Guests will be able to see the legendary double-sided painting by Boris Kustodiev "Russian Venus," as well as the monumental work by Nikolai Koshelev "Descent from the Cross" (size – 3.5 × 2.8 m) and many other works from the museum's rich collection. Among the unique exhibits are the floral study "A Sprig of Forget-Me-Nots in a Vase," created by the masters of the "Fabergé" firm at the turn of the 19th – 20th centuries, and a 25-kilogram altar Gospel, whose cover represents a vivid example of the jewelry art of Russian Baroque.

      Reference: The Nizhny Novgorod State Art Museum is one of the oldest and largest regional art museums in Russia. The museum's collection includes about 12,000 works of domestic and foreign art. The exhibition in the Governor's House is the most complete collection in the museum, representing Russian art from ancient Russian icon painting to masterpieces of the Silver Age. The halls feature paintings by outstanding masters: K. Bryullov, A. Savrasov, I. Shishkin, I. Repin, I. Levitan, V. Serov, B. Kustodiev, and other classics of domestic painting.
