July 31, 2026 18:15 Economy A new livestock complex for 625 cows has been built in the village of Bolshoye Ustinskoye in the Sharangsky district. This was reported by the government of the Nizhny Novgorod region. The project was implemented with state support as part of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy." More than 379 million rubles were allocated for construction, of which 87.5 million rubles is a subsidy from the regional budget. The new complex was built by LLC "New Century." It will be able to produce up to 7 thousand tons of milk per year. 20 jobs have been created. This is already the second facility of the company this year - earlier, a calf barn for 232 heads was opened. The farm is equipped with modern equipment for monitoring the condition of animals and controlling the quality of milk. The average yield is about 30 liters per cow per day - this is the best indicator in the district. Milk is supplied to processing enterprises in Pavlovo and Shakhunya. As noted by the Deputy Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Yegor Polyakov: "In five years, 95 new and reconstructed facilities have been put into operation with more than 33 thousand livestock places. This indicates the high efficiency of the measures of state support and the investment attractiveness of the industry." Currently, the region provides itself with milk at 85.5% and ranks 11th in Russia in terms of milk production in agricultural organizations. The Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region, Nikolai Denisov, reported that work to increase production volumes continues. A robotic farm for 402 heads is being prepared for launch in the Gorodetsky district, a complex for 808 heads is being built in the Bogorodsky district, and a project for 1200 heads is planned in the Buturlin district. Support for agriculture continues within the framework of the national project "Technological Support for Food Security": enterprises receive subsidies for milk production, the purchase of machinery and equipment, as well as preferential loans. It was previously reported that food production in the Nizhny Novgorod region increased by 5.5%. The index of the physical volume of food production in the region from January to May 2026 was 105.5%, and for beverage production - 104.4%. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
