      Nizhny Novgorod doctors reminded parents and legal representatives of children with disabilities about the need to timely choose the form of receiving the set of social services (SSS). Federal beneficiaries can receive support in kind — in the form of medications, medical devices, and specialized nutrition — or in the form of monetary compensation. As explained by the regional health ministry, the application for choosing the form of receiving SSS must be submitted to the Social Fund of Russia by October 1. From January 1 to December 31 of the following year, the beneficiary will receive assistance in the chosen form without the possibility of changing the decision during this period. If the application is not submitted, the previously chosen option remains in effect. Natalia Ochekurova, head of the department of drug provision and pharmaceutical activities of the regional health ministry, noted that for families with children with disabilities, the choice is especially important, as it concerns access to vital and expensive medications. According to her, receiving medications by prescription allows avoiding limitations related to the amount of monetary compensation. Multi-child mother Ekaterina Ignatieva shared that her family has been receiving a set of social services in the form of free preferential medications for three years, which helps provide necessary therapy and reduces financial burden. Doctors emphasize that timely and continuous treatment is a key factor in the rehabilitation and improvement of the quality of life for children with health limitations. Olga Chuchina, chief physician of the Children's City Polyclinic No. 48 in the Soviet District of Nizhny Novgorod, recommended that parents consult with their treating physicians before making a decision. Adherence to prescribed therapy is considered one of the tasks of the national project "Long and Active Life," implemented in the country by the decision of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
