A surgeon from the Balakhna Central District Hospital was sentenced to 1.5 years in prison.

      July 29, 2026 14:28 Incidents The head of the surgery department of Balakhna Central District Hospital, Igor Voinov, has been convicted of causing death by negligence due to improper performance of his professional duties. This was reported by the press service of the regional court. According to the case materials, at the end of January 2025, the surgeon failed to provide timely consultation with specialists from the Semashko Regional Clinical Hospital. As a result, the patient was not provided with timely further transportation and died. A direct link was established between the patient's death and the doctor's inaction. On May 15, an appeal was filed against Voinov, but on July 27, the court rejected it. The doctor has been sentenced to one and a half years in prison. Earlier, it was reported that two brothers attempted to abduct an 18-year-old woman from a bus stop in Bor.
