The administration of the Sosnovsky district received an order due to hogweed.
July 30, 2026 15:49 Society The Rosselkhoznadzor issued a directive to the administration of the Sosnovsky District of the Nizhny Novgorod Region due to the overgrowth of agricultural land with Sosnovsky hogweed and trees. This was reported by the press service of the regional department of the agency. The violation was identified on July 28 during monitoring. The issue concerns a plot of agricultural land near the village of Turkino. According to the agency, the entire area—more than 3.2 hectares—has been overgrown with trees and hogweed. The owner has been instructed to eliminate the violations of land legislation requirements by May 17, 2027. The administration must clear the area of vegetation, as well as mounds and stumps. After that, the plot should be used in accordance with its category and type of permitted use. It was previously reported that a pilot project for the use of artificial intelligence to identify hogweed hotspots has been launched in the Sosnovsky District. In addition, in 2026, 1.2 thousand hectares of agricultural land in the Nizhny Novgorod Region were treated for this plant. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX.
