      The Nizhny Novgorod Industrial College will undergo a major renovation of its student dormitory. The work has become possible thanks to the federal program "Professionalism," which is part of the national project "Youth and Children." As explained by the Ministry of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, in 2025, the educational institution joined the "Professionalism" program in the field of "Mechanical Engineering." This allowed the college to participate and win a competition for the major renovation of other areas not related to the cluster, in particular, the dormitory. "The federal project 'Professionalism' allows us to reorganize processes throughout the entire system of secondary vocational education. We have completely revised educational programs, focusing on training specialists who are truly in demand by our industrial partners. Thanks to the organization of educational-production clusters, colleges and technical schools are gaining a 'second life,' transforming into large regional educational centers in various industries," noted the Minister of Education of the Nizhny Novgorod Region, Mikhail Puchkov. The director of the Nizhny Novgorod Industrial College, Alexander Nikishin, spoke about how the major renovation of the dormitory is being carried out. "Work is actively underway in the building to replace communications, as well as finishing work. Currently, tile laying is being carried out, preparation for painting the premises, and installation of the power supply system. Preparation for the installation of the facade has also begun. Of course, new windows and doors will be installed in the dormitory," reported the head of the educational institution. It is worth noting that today there are 16 "Professionalism" clusters functioning in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, with three more clusters set to open in 2026. By 2027, the number of clusters in the region will increase to 25.

      The federal project "Professionalism" of the national project "Youth and Children" aims to popularize secondary vocational education in the country and prepare highly qualified personnel for the Russian economy. National projects have been implemented at the direction of the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, since 2025.
