Nikitin thanked the Nizhny Novgorod residents for their humanity during the fuel crisis.
On July 20, 2026, at 11:38 AM, Society Governor of the Nizhny Novgorod Region Gleb Nikitin thanked the residents of the region, volunteers, and law enforcement officers for their assistance during the tense situation with fuel last week.
"I want to thank the Nizhny Novgorod residents; you supported the operators at the gas stations, helped each other, and behaved humanely even in the most stressful moments," Nikitin wrote on his MAX channel.
According to the regional head, more than 400 volunteers worked without days off at 66 gas stations in Nizhny Novgorod and Dzerzhinsk. They helped motorists navigate the even and odd license plate numbers, regulated the flow of cars, and provided information about fuel availability and queues for the interactive map.
Nikitin also noted the work of police officers who maintained order and regulated the traffic situation at the gas stations.
"We continue to monitor the situation," emphasized the governor.
Recall that last week an online map of fuel availability at gas stations was launched in the region. By the weekend, queues at the gas stations had significantly decreased. On the morning of July 20, a correspondent from NIA "Nizhny Novgorod," driving through the upper part of the city, noticed a complete absence of queues. At the same time, gasoline was available.
It was also reported that the system for selling fuel via QR codes is not yet being implemented in the region. NIA "Nizhny Novgorod" has channels on Telegram and MAX. Subscribe to stay updated on the main events, exclusive materials, and operational information.
