Rospotrebnadzor named the water bodies in Nizhny Novgorod where swimming is allowed.

      On July 24, 2026, at 11:16 AM, the Society of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing in the Nizhny Novgorod Region updated the list of water bodies where the water meets sanitary requirements. The data is based on the situation as of July 24 and is based on the results of laboratory tests.

      In Nizhny Novgorod, swimming is allowed at the lakes of the first stage of the Recreation Park on Smirnova Street and the second stage on Youth Avenue in the Avtozavodsky District, at both beaches of the Silicate Lake in the Lenin District, at the Sorting Lake in the Kanavinsky District, as well as at the Pestichnoe and Lunskoe lakes in the Sormovsky District.

      Outside the regional center, swimming is allowed at the pond "408 km" and the Tesh River in Arzamas, at the Upper Lake in Semyonov, at the "At the Steep Mountain" lake in Bogorodsk, at the Holy Lake in the village of Pushkino, at the Yurasov Lake in Bor, and at all three beaches of the Upper Pond in Vyksa.

      The agency added that they continue to monitor the water quality in the region's water bodies.
