Nizhny Novgorod residents may still have their fines for waiting in line at gas stations canceled.

      On July 21, 2026, at 13:33, the Society of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Nizhny Novgorod Region stated that drivers who stopped under a no-parking sign while waiting to refuel at a gas station will not be subjected to mass fines. Already issued rulings may be canceled.

      As reported by the agency, decisions to cancel fines will be made after citizens' appeals. This concerns rulings for similar violations of traffic rules.

      “For each such ruling, decisions will be made regarding their cancellation, taking into account the insignificance or that the driver acted in conditions of extreme necessity,” the police explained.
