      July 20, 2026 18:10 Society The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Ecology, trustee of the "Compass" fund Dmitry Kobylkin presented the key results of work during the eighth convocation. Over the past five years, more than 250 landfills and sites of accumulated harm have been eliminated, over 300 thousand containers for waste collection have been installed, and more than 600 kilometers of riverbeds and water bodies have been cleared. Thanks to the modernization of forest service equipment, the number of forest fires has almost halved compared to 2021. Dmitry Kobylkin paid special attention to the All-Russian Children's Ecological Forum—a project of the "Compass" fund and the government of the Chelyabinsk region, which brings together schoolchildren from all regions of the country. He emphasized that the number of participants is growing, and children's initiatives are becoming an important part of Russia's ecological agenda. Among the priorities for the next five years are the development of waste recycling, forest restoration, cleaning of water bodies, and preservation of natural areas.
