      In the Nizhny Novgorod region, more than half of the planned hay volume has been harvested. This was reported by the Minister of Agriculture and Food Resources of the region, Nikolai Denisov. As of July 17, 2026, farmers in the region have harvested 73 thousand tons of hay, which is 55% of the plan, 459 thousand tons of silage (72%), and 85 thousand tons of silage (11%). Nikolai Denisov noted that the forage harvesting campaign continues despite difficult weather conditions and other factors. In 2026, it is planned to harvest 748 thousand tons of silage, 641 thousand tons of silage, and 133 thousand tons of hay. At the same time, soil preparation for the upcoming sowing of winter crops is underway. According to the regional Ministry of Agriculture, the leaders in hay harvesting are the Krasnooktyabrsky, Perevozsky, Bogorodsky, and Dalnekonstantinovsky districts, in silage — Dalnekonstantinovsky, Kovernin, Pochinkovsky, and Pilninsky, and in silage — Sharangsky, Sokoly, and Gorodetsky.
