Details have emerged regarding the death of a man after a collision between a boat and the "Valday."

      On July 21, 2026, at 15:04, Incidents: A man who died as a result of a collision between a boat and the hydrofoil "Valdai" was 38 years old. He is survived by his wife and two children. This was reported by relatives to the program "By the Way" (16+).

      Recall that the tragedy occurred on July 19 on the Oka River near the village of Pogorelki in the Pavlovsky district. The man was in a small rowing boat, while the "Valdai" was traveling from Pavlov to Nizhny Novgorod. The transport prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee are conducting checks regarding the incident.

      According to relatives, the family was relaxing on the river that day. There is a sandy spit in this area where many come during the heat and reach by boat.

      "They have a little house there, they were resting with the family. He took a small rubber boat and swam there. He swam after his family," said the mother of the deceased.

      Eyewitnesses tried to help. According to the mother, one of the friends immediately jumped into the water. He managed to pull the man ashore, but he died.

      The man's mother confessed that she is burying her second son at the same age.

      Relatives note that "Valdais" travel at high speed along the fairway, and the captain simply did not see the small boat.
