The "Sports Point" has opened on the embankment of the Rowing Canal in Nizhny Novgorod.

      On July 17, in Nizhny Novgorod, the sports space "Sports Point" was opened on the embankment of the Rowing Canal. The project was implemented by the Ministry of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region in accordance with the objectives of the state program "Sport of Russia" aimed at increasing the accessibility of sports for the country's residents.

      The facility features nine professional courts for beach volleyball, outdoor shower stalls for volleyball players, as well as a room with changing facilities where belongings can be left during sports activities. The changing rooms are also equipped with shower stalls and toilets. The infrastructure is designed for all sports enthusiasts training on the embankment of the Rowing Canal. Nearby are running tracks, bike paths, and various sports grounds.

      On the opening day of the new space for the running community, a 5 km run took place. The warm-up for the participants was conducted by a sports master in athletics, silver medalist of the Russian championship in the 100 km run, Pavel Ratoshnyuk. The Minister of Sports of the Nizhny Novgorod region, Dmitry Kabailo, also participated in the run.

      "There were many requests from residents who choose sports grounds in the Rowing Canal area for training, to create comfortable infrastructure - places where one could change before and after training, take a shower. Now such a space has appeared. At the same time, about 20 categories of residents will be able to visit the 'Sports Point' for free. These include large families, families of SVO participants, pensioners, residents with disabilities, and others. In addition, the 'Sports Point' facilities are also open to students of the rowing sports school as part of their training process," noted Dmitry Kabailo.

      The sports space "Sports Point" operates daily from 07:30 to 21:00 for everyone interested. "Sports Point" is located at: Nizhny Novgorod, embankment of the Rowing Canal, 108 A.
