      On July 13, 2026, at 18:17 Society Alexey Tsukanov's candidacy has been proposed for the position of prosecutor of the Nizhny Novgorod region. Consultations on this issue will be conducted by the Federation Council. This was reported in his Telegram channel by the chairman of the Federation Council's committee on constitutional legislation and state construction, Andrey Klishas. Tsukanov currently heads the prosecutor's office of the Kursk region. He has held this position since 2017. He has been working in the prosecutor's office since 1997 and holds the class rank of state advisor of justice, 3rd class. Since 2012, he has led the management of the Prosecutor General's Office in the North Caucasus Federal District. The Federation Council committees will consider Tsukanov's candidacy on July 16.
