Two men will be tried in the Nizhny Novgorod region for stealing wheels worth 30 million rubles.

      July 13, 2026 14:45 Incidents The Privolzhsky Transport Prosecutor's Office has submitted a criminal case to the court regarding the large-scale embezzlement of a company's property. The accused include a resident of the Nizhny Novgorod region and a resident of the Moscow region. They are charged with fraud under parts 3 and 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the agency reported. According to the investigation, in 2023-2024, the deputy director of one of the enterprises was preparing fictitious documents declaring wheel pairs for railway rolling stock as unrepairable. After that, the parts were sold under the guise of defects to a private company at a reduced price. Its general director, according to the investigation, then resold them to third parties at market value. More than 420 wheel pairs were thus sold. The money obtained was divided among the participants. The damage to the enterprise exceeded 30 million rubles. As part of the investigation, to ensure compensation for the harm caused, the property of the accused has been seized. The materials of the criminal case have been sent to the Kstovo City Court of the Nizhny Novgorod region for consideration on the merits. It was previously reported that a U.S. citizen was sentenced for embezzling more than 6 million rubles from relatives and acquaintances in the Nizhny Novgorod region.
