The application process for the competition on preserving historical memory is now open.

      The National Center for Historical Memory under the President of the Russian Federation has announced the acceptance of applications for the All-Russian competition of initiatives for the preservation and protection of historical memory, timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Participation is invited for adult citizens of the Russian Federation and foreign states — both individuals and legal entities. The competition is held in 12 nominations: "Small Homeland — History of a Great Country"; "Their Name is a Symbol of Russia"; "Game Formats for Preserving Historical Memory"; "Museums — Treasures of National Memory"; "People's Route — Roads of Historical Memory"; "Scientific and Professional Approaches to Preserving Historical Memory"; "Corporate Traditions of Preserving Historical Memory"; "Preserving Memory in Culture and Art"; "Russia — Territory of Unity"; "Digital Projects and Programs for Preserving Historical Memory"; "Historical Memory: International Dialogue"; "Historical Memory Through the Lens of a Camera." Participants are invited to present original initiatives covering all periods of Russian history. Applications can be submitted via the link: https://lk-events.russiancip.ru/ru/auth?return_url=%2Fcontests%2Fcomp_preserve_protect_memory. The competition will take place in two stages. In the first, remote stage, competitive works will be accepted until October 9, 2026. An expert council will evaluate the projects and determine the finalists who will be allowed to the in-person stage. Three finalists will be selected in each nomination. The second stage will consist of in-person presentations and project defenses, after which winners will be determined in each nomination. Finalists will also participate in an educational program, visiting memorial sites, archives, and museum exhibitions. All participants of the remote stage will receive electronic certificates. Winners will be awarded diplomas granting priority participation in projects of the National Center for Historical Memory, as well as methodological and expert support, informational assistance, and invitations to participate in specialized forums and educational programs.
