      On July 11, 2026, 08:11 Society In the Nizhny Novgorod region, the rules for numbering municipal public transport routes have been changed. The corresponding government decree has been published on the official legal acts portal. The main innovation concerns night routes. Routes that operate only from 10:00 PM to 6:00 AM will be assigned numbers from 450 to 499, and the letter "N" will be added before the digits. The rest of the numbering will remain the same: city routes - from 1 to 199, suburban - from 200 to 449, intercity - from 500 and above. The rule for electric buses is also maintained. If only electric buses operate on the route, the letter "E" is placed before the digits in its number. The exception is night routes. The updated requirements also apply when assigning a number to a new route, its adjustment, and when transferring an intermunicipal route to municipal status.
