The A.M. Gorky Literary Museum has begun landscaping the territory of the inner courtyard, styled to reflect the times of the Burmistrov merchants.

      At the A.M. Gorky Literary Museum, one of the key stages of work has begun — the improvement of the internal courtyard area. Almost two centuries ago, the well-known Burmistrov merchant family spent their time there, said the city head Yuri Shalabaev. "Very soon, visitors to the museum will be able to stroll in a stylized setting of that time, where they will 'meet' the main witness of the change of eras — the construction of the merchants' estate at the end of the 19th century, the life of their family, and later the emergence of the Literary Museum — an ancient larch tree. The tree still grows in the courtyard, and all this time it has been preserved as one of the main treasures," the mayor reported. According to Yuri Shalabaev, the museum is currently finishing the varnishing of the parquet, installing door panels, including rescued historical samples, as well as cast iron radiators that match the interiors. "In the Boudoir, the craftsmen are finishing the gilding with white gold, and in the Velvet Hall, part of the new velvet has already taken its place on the walls. In the Fireplace Hall, restorers continue work on finishing the ceiling with oak panels. Work on outdoor lighting and architectural illumination of the facade is nearing completion," he listed. Another unusual detail mentioned by the mayor is a new exhibit that is directly related to the history of the estate. "Specialists have conducted the museification of the ancient heating system, built directly into the floor — this is how the house was heated in the past. The very network of channels, hidden behind transparent glass, will now be visible to all guests," emphasized the city head.
